【職場英文】「我認為」的英文怎麼說?千萬別開口就說「 I think…..」

▌本文由WUWOW大英文天團授權行銷人編輯、轉載。

當你想要表達自己意見時,我們很常聽到 “I think…”,我認為/我想… 可是你知道嗎?這個說法可是非常的台式,而且在許多場合使用其實不那麼恰當,因為 “I think”其實還存有「一絲絲懷疑」的意思在裡面,那麼怎樣說最恰當呢?
When people try to give their opinions, we often hear “I think…”, but this can be very Chinglish and improper in many situations. As a matter of fact, “I think” contains a feeling of doubt. How can you express your opinions in a better way?

常用單字 Vocabulary

assume (v.)認為
beg (v.)請求;拜託
disagree (v.)不同意
perspective (n.) 看法; 觀點
personally (adv.)就個人而言
opinion (n.) 意見
suggest (v.)建議
express (v.)表達
admit (v.)承認
vary (v.)變化

想表達意見,你可以這樣開頭

  • Example: I believe this project will bring our company a huge profit in 6 months.
    例句:我認為這個計畫在六個月內會為公司帶來可觀的利潤

2. 一般來講我們會說
It seems to me that…
May I possibly suggest that…

  • Example: It seems to me that this project is worth trying.
    例句:在我看來這個計畫值得嘗試
用“I believe..”開頭,可以讓別人覺得你更有說服力。/圖:在工作場合發表意見時,該如何用英文開頭?繼續看下去吧!/圖:Photo by Headway on Unsplash

如何表達反對,卻又不失禮?

However跟But意思相近,但語氣差很多!

當我們想要表達反對意見時,你不只有「NO!」可以說,你還可以這樣說…

當你不同意他人意見時,與其說 “I don’t agree / I disagree” ,
你可以說 “I beg to differ”,表示你不苟同他人的想法與意見;
或者你也可以說 “I understand what you are saying; however,…”使用 however (然而)去表達「你還可以怎麼做…」,如果使用 but(但是)會有較負面的感覺喔
Instead of saying “I don’t agree / I disagree”, you can say “I beg to differ.” You may also say “I understand what you are saying; however,…” Using the conjunction “however” is a friendly way to word your suggestions. Try not to use “but” because it might give off a more negative connotation.

  •  Example: I understand what you are saying; however, the plant will grow better if you pour less water.
    例句:我知道你說的,然而如果你少澆點水植物會長得更好。

而如果你想要反駁他人意見,這時候你可以使用 “I don’t think…”(我不認為…) 除非你有文章佐證或證據支持,就可以很確信的大聲說 “I don’t believe…”
You may use “I don’t think…” when you disagree with others’ opinions. If you have evidence or proof to support your ideas, you can also say “I don’t believe…”

  • Example: I don’t believe this is a good idea. According to the last annual fiscal report, we can’t continue using the same strategy this year.
    例句:我不認為這是一個好點子。根據上年度財務報告,我們今年不能繼續用同一個策略。

這些用法其實都很口語,而且在生活中使用的頻率非常高!既然如此,我們就要學習最正確的用法,才不會有出糗的情況唷!
These scenarios are quite common in our daily lives. We should learn to apply these phrases to avoid awkward or embarrassing moments.
